The grant program ‘Consensus is achievable PRO BONO’ supports new and well-established though underfunded initiatives.
If like-minded people dare to step up to a task to promote nature conservation, sustainable economic development or quality of life, they may still lack the means and resources to hire consultants. Though at exactly these times good advice is often helpful because the group only starts to gain experience as to how the task can be tackled and how they can collaborate successfully.
Similarly, even well-established initiatives that work with a lot of experience can find themselves in a crisis. At that moment good advice is important to mediate the crisis and resolve conflicts. However, in the case of acute challenges, financial resources are sometimes lacking to engage external consultants and experts.
We understand the dilemma in both situations and have launched the ‘Consensus is achievable PRO BONO’ program to help selected initiatives: we are working for you without asking to be paid – aka ‘pro bono’. The PRO BONO in the name of our grant ‘Consensus is achievable PRO BONO’ means that you will not have to pay any fees for our support. However, this support is given with some expectations: we ask grant recipients to pay it forward. When we help them, we also encourage recipients to think of ways how they can help another initiative -independent from their cause- at a later time. In our initial conversations, we will ask recipients how they want to pursue this. We do not prescribe any fixed period of time or order of magnitude for their pay forward initiative; it is up to recipients to decide.
We are confident that the idea of mutual support for initiatives for the common good will make a difference. We give it a start by supporting you.
The funding program ‘Consensus is feasible PRO BONO’ is a voluntary service of the elmauer institute. The support program is limited in scope and is not required to use any allotted annual budget or transfer an unused budget to subsequent years. There is no legal right to be entitled to this grant and service. We do not guarantee that the objectives hoped for by the program’s users will be reached, but we guarantee that we bring our expertise and creativity to bear. If we can not provide the necessary expertise to support applicants, we may -if feasible- point out other appropriate support options.
If you would like to apply for support from the ‘Consensus is possible PRO-BONO’, please contact us. To make our first conversation as productive as possible we encourage you to prepare with this short checklist.
